There's Mario Galaxy 2 backlash?

Backup to Mario Galaxy's release. It was an awesome game, one that could be rivaled as the true sequel to Super Mario 64. Maybe even a true successor. Even though it was a tad on the easy side, you can't say you didn't like the game at all.

Then Mario Galaxy 2 is revealed at E3'09. I admit, I was excited just by the announcement on its own. But then...I started seeing something odd. Everyone was whining about it. Why? Because Galaxy hasn't been out that long? That's it's rehashing a game engine used a year ago?

Here's what I say:
Shut the hell up.

You're still getting an amazing looking game with a hellva lot of new features, including an actual ridable Yoshi that we haven't seen since Sunshine on the GC! Who wouldn't want some company while surfing the galaxy, eh?

You can also do the following:
- Slow down time
- Freeze oceans
- Fight a bunch of Shadow Marios at once
- Drill through an entire planet

And there's even more things we don't even know about!

Oh, forgot to mention this, the game's gonna be more challenging thanks to that patent they filled out. Now if you get stuck on a hard puzzle, you can look at a reference to figure it out if you want to. Thanks to that, we can actually have more challenging games without having to sacrifice people who want to play just because they can.

WHY DO PEOPLE HATE THINGS THEY DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT YET? JESUS, PEOPLE!

[/rant]

Okay, I'm done. No more ranting. XD

Aw that sounds like such an awesome game. I want to play it now.

Well, the same bloody thing is happening to L4D2. All I can say is that most gamers take things for granted. They always get on a companies back for delayed games, and now they're bitching about games coming out too early, no pleasing them.

You did not just call Super Mario Galaxy easy.

^ Daniel - Super Mario Galaxy WAS easy! It was CAKE!

Anyways, back to what I came here to say. Yes I am excited about SMG 2, but after a bit of thinking I've realized: This is the first time Nintendo is trying to add a feature to a product that is old hat for the console. Really think about, this is the first time Nintendo has reused a theme, setting, and possibly plot for one of their big reveals on a console franchise. This combined with the fact that the new Metroid game is no long Nintendo exclusive has me slightly worried here. Could Nintendo be starting a trend for the worse? Who knows, we'll see. Am I over analyzing this? Perhaps. But it's good to prepare oneself for a turn in the worse. For this time, I will shrug it off and await another delicious Mario game to come out next year, but next time I won't be so dismissive.

I won't be satisfied unless Wario and Luigi are playable.

Maybe Bowser.

that freezing oceans thing sounds kick-ass!

But Bowser's the villain. How could he be playable? o.O

Also, if the first offered Luigi playable, then I'm sure this one will too.
